June 11th 1988 My family takes a trip to Cove, Oregon to visit our family and our roots. On the trip we visit the cove cemetery where Harold DeBorde points out family, We Visit the cove public pool a warm spring swimming pool and we also go to the Pendleton Rodeo

Clip one starts out with us at the DeBorde home getting ready to drive to eastern oregon,
there is a beautiful shot of Harold V. DeBorde’s rose garden. Then we eat at a restaurant i have been looking for, for years.. its is by the bridge of the gods however it is not the hamburger place i saw last time i was there.

A short drive to eastern oregon and then we arrive in cove, we stopped at either a fair grounds for lunch. and Jesse rides a airplane ride.

Clip 2

Now in Cove, grandmother and grandfather show us around town. and around the hills of Cove, we see the DeBorde house, the old Episcopal church. And hen we get a little history lesson about the Cove Swimming pool from Harold V. DeBorde

Clip 3

Starts off at Mill Creek by the Cove Pool. With the kids playing on the playground, Then we drive up to the cove cemetery where Harold Venroe DeBorde guides us though headstones of his family including, Shawn A. DeBorde his 3rd cousin, James A. DeBorde, Benjamin his uncle DeBorde. We see the headstones of Thomas Jefferson DeBorde and Sara Jane Franklin.

Mother hints to a story about the spirit of Thomas or Sara visiting her in her Youth. J Franklin Deborde, Hattie Powell who Harold V. DeBorde stayed with at some point in his life.

Clip 4

Still at the Cove Cemetery, Harold talks about the area around cove, He talks about Twin Butte and a man who lost his mind out there. Danna looks at more interesting headstones. Tove’ looses a ring mother bought her at the Fair Grounds, then we get some driving music wile mom (Danna) holds the sunglasses over the camera lens wile The Beatles sing on.

We start with Mom’s funky 80’s music, as we are on the way to Carmen’s house. Where we arrive about half way though the clip where the family does re-introductions, there is a conversation about the Gambill family history and a beautiful portrait of Alta Mae Gambill drawn by a Harvey
